Smith & Wollensky

Just as there are places (such as The River Café and One if by Land, Two if by Sea) that are perfect for proposing, this steakhouse is ideal for the traditional guy’s night out (both the bachelor party itself, before the ceremony, and as a midlife antidote to atrophying male friendships, decades later). Smith & Wollensky’s roots are true to the cause of good times. Founded by Alan Stillman, who created the T.G.I. Friday’s concept (the world’s first “singles” bars), it opened in 1977 and has been serving some of the city’s best steaks ever since. (49th St. and Third Ave. 212-753-1530.)

Signed fine art Giclee prints on museum-quality, one-quarter-cotton 280 gsm paper with archival inks are available in two sizes:

5 x 7 for $55 (email me about this size)
9 x 12 for $95

Editions are strictly limited to 365 copies, and each annotated print is a beautiful reminder that our days are numbered.
