Jubilee
Self-described as Sutton Place’s favorite kitchen, Jubilee brings the nuances and flavors of the Continent to Manhattan’s East Side. I don’t often get to this part of town (to say nothing of France itself), but for those in need classic French onion soup, les moules, or Dover sole meuniere, it’s easily accessible (no passport required). For years it occupied a cozy space on W. 54th Street, and in 2012 moved to larger quarters on First Avenue. No worries; apparently the crème brûlée traveled well. (948 1st Ave., between 52nd & 53rd Sts. 212-888-3569.)
