Big flavors and small plates are the hallmarks of this Brooklyn spot, which opened in 2012. Named for the daughter of the chef and owner Matthew Hamilton (whose professional experience includes time at 5 Points, Prune, and Public, and whose great ancestors were a butcher and a ship’s cook), Lulu & Po draws local and itinerant diners. They come for hand-crafted cocktails and such singular fare as bone-marrow tacos, lamb tartare, and cilantro-jalapeno dressed Spanish Octopus, and they leave with happy memories of a well-spent evening. (154 Carlton Ave., Brooklyn, 917-435-3745.)
