Marcha Cocina
The tapas and Nuevo-Latino fare at this narrow restaurant have drawn notice not only in its neighborhood of Washington Heights but well beyond.Marcha Cocina has picked up an approving nod from the Michelin Guide. “The menu is broad and affordable, which makes a perfect excuse to sample widely,” it declares. “Staples from tender tortilla Espanola to gambas al ajillo are delicious executions of classic tapas. Ribbons of luscious Spanish ham are on handsome display in the hongos e higos coca, a chewy flatbread also topped with mushrooms, figs, and buttery almonds. It would be blasphemy to skip the dates wrapped in bacon or the thick-cut yucca fries.” (4055 Broadway, at W. 171st St. 212-928-8272.)
