Mas (farmhouse)

It’s farm to table to a T, at Galen Zamarra’s discrete West Village favorite, which takes its name from an old Provençal word for farmhouse. The chef’s take on French fare incorporates carefully chosen local ingredients and the décor includes a long wooden table one might find at, say, a house on a property with fields. Though as soon as you sit down you’ll know you’re not in Kansas anymore. (39 Downing St. 212-255-1790.)
