I'm a writer and an artist. My articles and cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Barron's, and other publications. I'm also the editor of "Man With a Pan: Culinary Adventures of Fathers Who Cook For their Families," a 2011 best-selling anthology featuring contributions from Mario Batali, Mark Bittman, Mark Kurlansky, Stephen King, and many others.
I started drawing about fifteen years ago, and in 2016 I developed a daily practice that has changed my life. By sharing my images, I hope to make universal the joy I experienced in creating them. I can be found on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
I've created these drawings using pen, and working from life. I do not use a pencil and I cannot erase mistakes. The risk this presents can give the drawings a certain life that might not otherwise be present.
I work with a fine-art printer in Brooklyn to make Giclee prints on museum-quality, one-quarter-cotton 280 gsm paper with archival inks. The results are beautiful and will last a lifetime.
About the editions: Print runs are limited to 365 copies, making each signed and annotated image a tactile reminder of how our days are numbered.
