Supporting Puerto Rican Students: A Special Print Series for the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship Fund

Four premium prints of local Puerto Rican-owned eateries, drawn by John Donohue and signed by the artist and owners, are for sale this June, with all proceeds going to the scholarship fund.

We are proud to announce that our latest charity initiative is in support of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade (NPRDP) Scholarship Program. Each year, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade awards about $200,000 in scholarships to students of Puerto Rican descent who are either graduating HS seniors about to attend, or students already enrolled in colleges and universities around the country. The scholarship program awards students who not only excel academically, but also have a commitment to the community through service, and who are also learning or eager to learn more about their history and culture.

John Donohue, the artist, has drawn four eateries with Puerto Rican roots—Barrio BX, Chocobar Cortés, 787 Coffee, and La Fonda—and is creating one-of-a-kind prints signed by both him and the restaurant owners. Each premium print will be on sale on ATR’s website this June 2024 for $250, with all of the proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund.

This collaboration also includes four interviews featured on our blog with accompanying videos on our Instagram and TikTok (as well as the @prparade, @barriobx, @chocobarcortesbx, @787coffee, and, @lafondanyc accounts). Our intention with these interviews is to amplify the missions, histories, and impact of these Puerto Rican-owned businesses in NYC.

"This collaboration with Puerto Rican-owned restaurants highlights our commitment to celebrating New York City's diverse culinary scene and supporting educational opportunities for outstanding students," says John Donohue, founder of All The Restaurants. "By partnering with Barrio BX, Chocobar Cortés, 787 Coffee, and La Fonda, we aim to honor their cultural contributions and directly benefit the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship Program."

This partnership follows All the Restaurants' recent milestone of raising over $750 for a women’s shelter run by Brooklyn Community Services. In honor of Women’s History Month, Donohue collaborated with women-owned restaurants including Fish Cheeks and Vineapple.

Special thanks to Michael Carusillo, our Director of Operations and Marketing, who spearheaded this project to honor his culture and give back during this National celebration.
