The original owner of Caffe Reggio, Domenico Parisi, opened this fabled cafe in 1927 and promptly installed a gleaming chrome and bronze espresso machine dating from 1902. He then introduced Greenwich Village habitués to Cappuccino for the first time, and the rest is history. (Cafe Reggio, 119 MacDougal St. 212-475-9557.)
